CHARITABLE DONATIONS MADE POSSIBLE IN 2026
BY NOTTON'S BONFIRE AND FIREWORKS EVENT - NOVEMBER 2025
Notton has been running a bonfire and firework display for over 20 years, and while it is a community event held for residents from Notton and the local area, fundraising is still at its heart.
Our facilities (Halls, Social Pavilion, Tennis Club, Cricket Club, Sports Field and Village Green) are not owned by the Council. They are held in trust, and have to be funded through incomes we generate. This includes fees made through hiring out our various facilities, and from other fundraising events we hold through the year. All this happens because we have an army of dedicated and committed volunteers to rely on, who work in a wide range of roles to keep our efforts on track.
Fundraising is not limited purely to providing for our village facilities. The Bonfire Event has raised thousands of pounds over the years for both the local community and many local charities too, so early in January 2026 we were delighted to welcome three of these charities to our Village Hall, to present them with donations from the 2025 Bonfire event.
If you attended our Bonfire, you can see how your contributions helped to make this possible, so thank you for your support and for buying a ticket.
If you were part of the army of volunteers we're so lucky to have, without whom the event simply just couldn't exist, you too can see how your contributions helped make this possible, so thank you for your support, commitment, patience and hard work.
Shown in the photographs are members of the Notton Bonfire Committee, joined by staff and volunteers from Barnsley Hospice, Wakefield Hospice, and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

NOTTON BONFIRE & FIREWORK DISPLAY
One of the largest Bonfire & Firework Displays in West Yorkhire!
Saturday 1st November 2025
A huge thank you to everyone who bought tickets and came to our Bonfire & Fireworks event this year.
We were blessed with dry, mild weather (well, mild for November) so with thanks in no small measure to our army of absolutely dedicated volunteers which was out in force again, our event went safely and fairly smoothly. Phew!
Our firework display was again provided by www.optimum-fireworks.co.uk and were amazing. We continue to receive great feedback so thanks go to them for yet another inspiring display which was set to music for the first time.
The event was a sell out so sorry if you tried to get tickets and were disappointed. We hope we might see you next year.
